‘Show Top Commentators’ is not working on your blog? Get the modified plugin with widget support

Nate sanden, the creator of the “Show Top Commentators” plugin. It’s ability to increase comments on your blog makes it one of its kind. It offers a competition to comment more on your blog. Although having a baby blog I didn’t have the pleasure to check the beauty of the plugin on my blog yet, but honestly, I’m looking further into it.

However, it wasn’t working on my blog and I have been wondering all these days why ‘Show Top Commentators’ was not working! so I decided to digg further and make it work on my blog. I was looking for ways to tweak the code to make it working for me. Some one showed me how to tweak the code, but I figured it’s a bit complicated for beginners like me. It requires you to manually edit the theme. So I decided to google it for more and I figured 4 different sites with minor modification of the code.

Then I have decided to digg further. So I checked Krizka.net to give it a try and figured it’s not working either. Later while I was digging further I figured the latest release in which he claims he solved the problems and it works fine. I have decided to give it a go and finally was able to get the plugin working :D. Thanks to krizka, the plugin is even better with its built in widget and theme’s support. Upload the plugin in your wp-content/plugins directory. Activate the plugin from your plugins tab of the wordpress control panel. Go to the Presentation tab and click on the Widget submenu. Drag and drop Show Top Commentators on to your sidebar and save the option. Now check your blog and you can find it there by the sidebar. Note that to get it working with your sidebar widget, you need to have a sidebar widget enabled theme.
